Friends of the Museum Breakfast
Saturday March
27, 2010, the Friends of the J.M. Davis Museum, Inc. will host a fundraising breakfast
at the Claremore Elks Lodge on North
Highway 88 from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.
$5.00 gets you
an all you can eat breakfast and helps the Friends help the Museum.
Western and Firearms Trading Day

Arms and Historical
Museum and the Will
Rogers Memorial will host a Western and Firearms Trading Days. Both museums will welcome vendors to sell
their wares as a kickoff event to the weeklong Destination Claremore
celebration. For more information on
the event or on getting a booth to sell your historical firearms to the

Night at the (JM Davis) Museum
As part of
Destination Claremore, the J.M. Davis
Museum will be hosting an evening event on April 26, 2010. During this event, we will unveil the new
“Claremore Wall of Fame”, honoring ten people who have each done
something spectacular to bring fame to Claremore and Roger County, Oklahoma.
THE GOOD OL' DAY are coming back
On
October 9, 2010, we will be celebrating the J.M. Davis Good Ol’ Day.
The
Museum will host vendors and exhibitors.

USS Bataan CVL 29

The Museum is proud to exhibit
Mr. Allen Lamont’s scale model of the Light Aircraft Carrier USS Bataan. The Bataan served during World War II and the Korean
War. Mr. Lamont, a resident of Claremore,
was Boatswain aboard the Bataan during the
Korean War. He finished building this model 55 years after the ship was
decommissioned in 1954. The model is on loan to the Museum and will be a
temporary exhibit for an entire year.

40th Anniversary Celebration
The public is invited to come by and celebrate the 40th
Anniversary of the opening of the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum
and the 122nd anniversary of J.M. Davis’ birth. Anniversary cake and punch will be served
free to the public from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
While
you are here, be sure to enjoy the following special exhibitions:
Oklahoma Medal of Honor Recipients and
Active Duty Service Men and Women Exhibit
The Museum has brought back its Oklahoma Medal of Honor Recipient exhibit
with an added expansion. We are
seeking photos of Active Duty Service Men and Women from Rogers County
and the Oklahoma
Green Country area to post inside this exhibit. We hope to have the case full of photos
before Veterans Day, November 11.

Model Railroad Exhibit
Thanks to a gracious gift by Mrs. Judy Bradley, the Museum has
opened a model railroad exhibit. Mrs.
Bradley’s late husband, Danny, was a model railroader, and the museum has used his wonderful collection for the enjoyment of the
visitors of the Museum.

exhibit
The staff of
the Museum is proud to open an exhibit recreating a portion of the Lobby and
Coffee Shop of the Mason
Hotel where Mr. Davis
originally displayed his world-famous collection.
